Introductions - Kylie Carroll

Hello! My name is Kylie Carroll, and I am a Newly declared art major. I do many different arts and consider myself a jack of all trades. I have a fur baby named Theo. I enjoy my screen time as well as writing. If you're interested, I'll attach my Wattpad link to my poetry novel titled "Walking away from you" that I have been invested in creating over the past few years. I will, however, include a disclaimer that the novel is not for the weak for there is a trigger warning. Either way, I hope you enjoy my content and I look forward to working with you in this semester.

Assignment 2: DOF & Motion

For this assignment, since we were locked in due to the snow, me and my roommate Madison decided to use her as my model in a series of photographs. Here is the result. Depth of Field: With these photos, I experimented with depth of field. In the first Photo my goal was to show a shallow depth of field in showing the detail of the trees and Madison blurry in the background. I edited this photo by adding yellow to the highlights, green to the shadows, and upping the saturation of the red in her jacket. The second photo I tried keeping the depth more mid ranged to deep. Keeping the edge of the building in focus and the sky and trees in blur. I edited this photo by adding brown to the shadows and blue in the highlights. Then I added saturation in red and yellow to bring out the orange in the building.  In this photo however, I wanted the blur to be gradual. starting with a shallow field, my goal was to slowly see the blur increase as it went further into the distance. You can se...

Assignment 4: Special Edits.

With this first photo, I took a prism and placed it in front of the lens, creating a reflection effect.    With this photo, I  placed a pink camera lens filter on, then used my hand to create shadows on her face. In this photo, I took my phone and used it as a mirror to reflect her face.   This photo is a triple exposure that we learned in class, I do wish I could have made it more clear, however Madison could not stay still enough. Here we took the light and used light writing to create a figure toughing Madison's hand This photo was used as light writing. we kept it vertical to balance the wide angle. With this photo we tried normal light writing, as you can see it did not turn out. This last photo turned out to be my favorite. It started out as normal light writing to give Madison a halo. However we forgot to add a flash of light in the end and I think it turned out better than it would have if I had remembered. In the end, I ended up doing very little...

The Invisible Man

Above are my attempts at making will invisible. the last photo in particular was hard to pull off as I had to completely copy and paste will onto the background photo to move him around because the two images did not match up.
